Job Title: Welsh Medium Primary School Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support children in the Foundation Phase at a vibrant and welcoming Welsh-medium primary school located in Rhondda Cynon Taf. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of children in the Foundation Phase (Nursery to Year 2).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
  • Provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate in class activities
  • Help prepare and maintain a stimulating classroom environment
  • Work closely with other staff members to ensure the child's individual needs are met
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
  • Support with outdoor learning activities in line with the Foundation Phase curriculum

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children
  • Ability to work 1:1 with children who may require additional support
  • A caring, patient, and positive attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Welsh language skills are essential for this role
  • All vetting requirements need to be completed, including a valid DBS and registration with the Education Workforce Council
