Job Summary: We are seeking a technically strong leader to ensure robust financial governance and control, together with the appropriate gravitas to work effectively across the business and eventually step into the Finance Director position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Completion of year-end accounts, preparation of audit packs, and production of timely and accurate Management Information to provide insightful analysis.
  • Financial Operations: Management of a small team, day-to-day finance operations, and provision of strategic financial guidance to drive growth.
  • Financial Systems and Planning: Development of the stock and planning system, responsibility for daily cash flow and working capital management, and monitoring and continuous improvement of all financial processes.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to assess business performance, implement cost control measures and performance metrics to drive cost management and cost efficiency, and ensure a robust and cost-effective IT support team.
  • Payroll and Compliance: Responsibility for Payroll to ensure the department meets all company and statutory regulations.

Requirements:

  • Accounting Qualification: Recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA/ ACCA/ACA)
  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial acumen with a track record of driving financial performance and adding value
  • Financial Systems and Technologies: Experience of using financial systems and technologies to drive change and efficiency
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a finance leadership role, ideally within an owner-managed manufacturing company
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders
  • Analytical Skills: Strong Excel and analytical skills
