Lead Medicine Registered Veterinary Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to lead our internal medicine, oncology, and cardiology teams. As a key member of our multidisciplinary veterinary hospital in West London, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and providing leadership and guidance to our nursing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure high-quality patient care within internal medicine, oncology, and cardiology services.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the internal medicine, oncology, and cardiology teams.
  • Maintain high hygiene standards and infection control.
  • Coordinate patient flow and case scheduling across departments, including diagnostics, anaesthesia, theatre, and imaging.
  • Oversee inpatient care and the implementation of nursing care plans.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and serviced as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication within the teams.
  • Assist in developing a skills matrix for nursing within the relevant services.
  • Support cat-friendly and dog-friendly standards throughout the hospital.
  • Use incident reporting tools to reflect on patient care improvements.
  • Maintain competence in other areas of nursing through role swaps and CPD.
