Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Regional Support Chef to join our Group Hospitality team at Runwood Homes, one of the UK's largest residential elderly care providers.

The successful candidate will work with the Regional Support Chef North and our Group Hospitality and Catering Manager to develop training and support materials for the Catering teams in our Care Homes.

This field-based role will require travel to any of our homes in the South.

About the Role
  • Develop Training Materials: Create high-quality training resources to drive excellence in food quality and compliance across our care homes.
  • Food Projects and Initiatives: Take ownership of key food-related projects and lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance our catering services.
  • Chef Forums and Training Sessions: Collaborate with the Group Hospitality Manager to organize regular chef forums and training sessions tailored to meet the needs of each supported home.
  • Audit Kitchen Operations: Conduct thorough audits to ensure kitchen operations meet our defined standards for food quality, presentation, and service.
  • Relationship Building: Foster strong working relationships with home management and kitchen teams through regular personal contact.
Requirements
  • Genuine Interest in Care Environment: Demonstrate a sincere interest in working within a caring environment.
  • Effective Communication: Possess excellent communication skills to interact effectively with all levels.
  • Team Player: Be a collaborative team player willing to participate in vocational training programs.
  • Satisfactory DBS Result: Obtain a satisfactory DBS result and provide good references.
  • Catering Experience: Bring experience in providing catering services, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Food Hygiene Understanding: Possess a solid understanding of food hygiene regulations.
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: Have a basic understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
