About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electro Mechanical Technician to join our team at Veolia, a leading provider of environmental solutions. As an Electro Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving our electro-mechanical systems, ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities and the delivery of high-quality services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and installations of electro-mechanical systems, including pumps, fans, conveyors, cranes, and valves.
  • Inspect and maintain electrical plant, apparatus, control gear, and variable speed drives.
  • Work with diverse instruments and maintain equipment files using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Understand and interpret technical diagrams and propose improvements to plant and apparatus.
  • Oversee suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality and Environmental Management Systems and Health and Safety Policies.
  • Assist maintenance and operation teams in achieving collective objectives.
  • Provide on-the-job training to apprentices when applicable.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices and perform duties in compliance with company policies and environmental, health, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Completed a recognized Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Qualified with at least ONC or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Detailed knowledge of electro-mechanical systems maintenance techniques.
  • Good understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)/Distributed Control Systems (DCS) architecture and control systems.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a continuous process industry.
  • Understanding of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and environmental legislation.
  • Capable of manual handling, working in confined spaces, and at heights.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with staff at all levels and external partners.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, with on-call availability.
  • Computer literate, adaptable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team with minimal supervision.
