The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Waste Water Recycling team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the efficient operation of our vital wastewater treatment facilities.
Your Responsibilities
- Proactively and reactively maintain mechanical assets onsite, including pumps, chemical dosing systems, gearboxes, high-pressure systems, gas systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, valves, motors, generators, drive belts, conveyors, and scrapers.
- Perform fabrication, lubrication, and welding activities as required.
- Continuously improve the mechanical asset base through proactive maintenance and repair strategies.
- Conduct fault finding and diagnostics to identify and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
- Interpret and update mechanical drawings to ensure accurate documentation and understanding of system configurations.
- Support the design and build of new processes, contributing your technical expertise to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor treatment processes using SCADA systems and respond promptly to alarms to maintain optimal performance.
- Proactively review the health and availability of assets on site, identifying potential issues before they escalate.
- Ensure all relevant training, including mechanical and maintenance training, is up-to-date to maintain your skills and knowledge.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a similar industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and repair techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to industry best practices.
