We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our dynamic team at the Quadram Institute Bioscience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, nutrition or a related discipline.

This role is part of an Innovate UK project focused on developing gut health beneficial beverages. You will work closely with a new start-up company to explore soluble fibre formulations for incorporation into beverages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on dietary fibre and the gut microbiome using in vitro gut models.
  • Collaborate with industrial partners to develop innovative solutions.
  • Develop strong organisational and communication skills to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
  • PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, nutrition or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with in vitro gut models, dietary fibre and the gut microbiome is essential.
  • Industrial partnership experience is advantageous.
