Senior Compliance Manager, Academic Section

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Compliance Manager to join our Academic Section at the University of Essex. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our student immigration compliance requirements are met, while also providing leadership and management for our International Services team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support institutional compliance within the context of evolving internal and external developments
- Provide leadership and management for the International Services team, responsible for day-to-day oversight of student immigration compliance
- Deliver training and briefings to students, colleagues, and teams on student immigration compliance
- Manage budgets and support the resolution and escalation of complex student casework
- Contribute to the successful operation of the Academic Section, reporting directly to the Academic Registrar
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in a complex organisation
- Excellent understanding of UK Higher Education immigration compliance requirements
- Ability to think strategically while balancing operational delivery
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong sense of empathy for academic endeavour and values
- Collaborative approach, with personal credibility and the ability to work with academic and professional services colleagues
