About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Compliance Manager to join our Academic Section at the University of Essex. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our student immigration compliance requirements are met, while also providing leadership and management for our International Services team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support institutional compliance within the context of evolving internal and external developments
  • Provide leadership and management for the International Services team, responsible for day-to-day oversight of student immigration compliance
  • Deliver training and briefings to students, colleagues, and teams on student immigration compliance requirements
  • Manage budgets and ensure effective and customer-focused processes and services in your areas of responsibility
  • Contribute to the successful operation of the Academic Section, reporting directly to the Academic Registrar
Requirements

We are looking for a strong team player with excellent leadership and management skills, a creative and flexible approach, and a deep understanding of UK Higher Education immigration compliance requirements. You will have a proven track record of managing complex student casework and providing effective budget management. Your attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues are essential.
