Job Summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is a leading organization in the collection and distribution of blood and blood products. Our team provides a welcoming and specialized environment for donors, ensuring they receive exceptional care and support. We collect blood from donors in Donor Centres and in our community, making a vital contribution to saving and improving lives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in training to learn how to insert a needle into a donor's arm to achieve a blood donation unit.
  • Provide care and support to donors throughout their donation journey, ensuring a positive experience and exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of donor information and blood products.
  • Build relationships with donors and deliver an exceptional customer experience to encourage repeat donations.
  • Ensure the safe handling and management of blood products, needles, and equipment.

About You

Experience and Knowledge

  • Have experience of dealing with the public and delivering quality customer service.
  • Be willing to learn new technology skills and undergo digital training.

Qualifications and Training

  • Have a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • Be willing to undertake development and training to upskill yourself, including completion of a recognized healthcare certificate.
  • Hold a valid full UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
