Residential Support Worker (Child) Job Opportunity

Location: Gateshead

Salary: £110 to £170 per day, depending on experience

Contract Type: Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker (Child) to join our team at a well-resourced primary school in Gateshead. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing day-to-day care, support, and guidance to children in a residential setting.

The Role:

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that promotes the wellbeing and personal development of children. You will work closely with children to understand their needs, provide emotional support, and encourage their participation in activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to children in a residential setting
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans to meet the needs of children
  • Work collaboratively with the school team to ensure seamless transitions and support
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in a residential or similar setting
  • Possess a genuine passion for working with vulnerable children and a commitment to their wellbeing
  • Be patient, empathetic, and understanding in approach to care
  • Contain flexibility and adaptability to cover various subjects
  • Have a passion for education and supporting students' learning progress
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
  • Have strong communication and classroom management, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage a classroom effectively
