About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Barking and Dagenham. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide senior medical support and guidance to our team, working directly with children and young people and their families, and liaising with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals.

You will be expected to work collaboratively with our team, supporting your peers and team leader, and being an effective team member while allowing them to work with their own initiative. You will also participate in the on-call rota and commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, across Barking and Dagenham.
  2. Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team.
  3. Work directly with children and young people and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals.
  4. Participate in the on-call rota frequency is currently 1:13, with a 3% of basic salary, Category A on-call supplement.
  5. Support your peers and team leader, and be an effective team member whilst allowing them to work with their own initiative.
  6. Work alongside 2.4wte CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrists, 2wte Specialty Doctors, and 1 Core Trainee, within the service.
  7. Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies.

This is an established, substantive, full-time post - 10 Programmed Activities (DCC: SPA = 7.5:2.5). This post is currently vacant, and we wish to recruit to this post as soon as possible.
