About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Trust Senior to join our team at Kreston Reeves. As a Trust Senior, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of trust clients, providing expert advice and guidance on trust administration, tax planning, and estate management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit trust returns and accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Advise clients on trust wind-up, income distributions, and tax payments, providing expert guidance on tax planning and estate management.
  • Monitor work progress and update job workflow, ensuring timely completion of tasks and effective communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain trust, estate, and probate tax technical skills through training, research, and staying up-to-date with changes in legislation and HMRC policy.
  • Ensure registration of trusts with the TRS, including client ID documents, and support the trust team in delivering departmental incremental fee targets.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in trust work, with a strong understanding of trust administration, tax planning, and estate management.
  • STEP membership or willingness to study for the qualification.
  • Studying or willingness to study for accountancy or tax qualifications, with a full study package provided.
  • Probate and estate experience, although not essential, as training will be given.
