Public Health Advocate Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Promoter to lead our oral health promotion initiatives in South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a unique chance to contribute to the improvement of oral health outcomes in communities across Gateshead, South Tyneside, and Sunderland. As part of the role, you will develop, implement, and evaluate oral health promotion programs in various settings, including nurseries, schools, community centers, care homes, and other locations.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in oral health education, with evidence of continuous professional development and teaching skills. They must hold current registration with the General Dental Council, a recognized dental nurse qualification along with a qualification in oral health education or equivalent, and a proven track record of delivering oral health interventions.

About the Opportunity
  • Design, implement, deliver, and evaluate oral health promotion programs to increase awareness and improve the oral health of people living within Gateshead, South Tyneside, and Sunderland.
  • Collaborate with carers and other professionals within NHS and Local Authority to develop programs of care and offer specialized advice, support, and training on mouth care for individuals and client groups.
  • Participate in planning, implementation, and delivery of local activities, including local campaigns, exhibitions, and media promotion to support national campaigns of public awareness regarding oral health issues.
Remuneration Package

The salary for this role is £28,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including access to high-quality education, training, career progression, and support.

Flexible working arrangements are supported through our Trust's Flexible Working Policy, and we provide access to a Childcare Coordinator to help staff with childcare arrangements.
