Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Professional to join our team, specializing in autism assessments for children and adolescents aged 5-18.

\

About the Position:

\

This role requires conducting thorough developmental histories, observing children during sessions, reviewing ADOS reports, and developing diagnoses.

\

The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, provide feedback to families, and produce detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment.

\

Salary Details: Estimated £110-£140 per hour, based on national averages for similar roles, offering competitive per assessment rates outside IR35.

\

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive developmental histories using preferred methods/tools.\
  • Observing children during sessions and ensuring questions are asked in an age-appropriate manner.\
  • Reviewing ADOS reports, developmental history, and relevant collateral information from home and school in the same session.\
  • Formulating diagnoses, concluding assessments, and providing feedback to families in a kind and compassionate manner.\
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team in cases where further information is required.\
  • Producing high-quality diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to DSM-5 criteria and report templates.\
  • Requesting onward referrals as clinically necessary, in line with local NHS Trust/ICB protocols.\

Requirements:

  • GMC-registered doctor with a valid license to practice.\
  • CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred but not essential.\
  • Expertise and confidence in autism spectrum disorder ASD and/or ADHD assessments for children and young people.\
  • Up-to-date with revalidation and appraisal processes.\

Our clinics operate in various locations, with up to four appointments per day available. Remote assessments can be undertaken if you are based in and around Manchester.
