Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team at NP Aerospace, a global leader in armour technology manufacturing and vehicle integration. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of projects supporting the delivery of new defence protection products, such as armour plates, shields, helmets, and bomb disposal suits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects across the Composite and Armour Systems business, ensuring delivery on time, to the right quality standards, and to agreed project budgets.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to define and coordinate the resources required and assigned to projects.
  • Provide technical direction to ensure system design meets customer technical specifications and any other relevant quality or regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a full product life cycle from bids and project initiation through development and verification, into full-rate production.
  • Interact with Production and Quality teams to investigate and obtain any necessary corrective action data.
  • Provide robust management information reporting on progress both internally and externally.
  • Develop and maintain Project Management Plans and associated governance documentation to ensure the continued viability of the project.
  • Maintain a clear, comprehensive understanding of the risks and opportunities for all allocated projects and a clear understanding of necessary actions to follow up as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the bid management team on bid preparation activities as required.
  • Own the financial budget, with support from the project accountant community, and forecast future risks and opportunities.
Requirements
  • Experienced Project Management professional with strong leadership skills and a demonstrable track record in successful project setup, execution, and delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft packages, including MS Project.
  • A self-starter who can work independently and effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and experience in the effective use of Project Management tools and techniques.
  • Ability to quickly identify the critical path and mitigate risks as they are identified.
  • Strong negotiation skills with customers, management, peers, and subordinates.
