Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Forensic Pathology Specialist to join the East Midlands Forensic Pathology Unit at the University of Leicester.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Forensic Pathologist to contribute to the delivery of high-quality forensic pathology services, education, and research. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for investigating sudden and suspicious deaths, teaching and supervising students, and contributing to the development of future forensic pathologists.

You will participate in the rota for investigating sudden and suspicious deaths, alongside delivering lectures, clinical teaching, and overseeing autopsies for both training and service purposes. Your expertise will also be utilized in leading knowledge exchange initiatives in forensic pathology.

Requirements
  • Fully accredited medical practitioner with GMC registration and a licence to practice
  • Completed higher specialist training in forensic pathology and either on or eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register for Forensic Histopathology within six months of the interview date
  • FRCPath (Forensic) or equivalent qualification and eligibility for inclusion on the Home Office list of approved forensic pathologists
