Account Manager Role

The Account Manager plays a vital role in Equator, acting as a key point of contact for clients and helping build strong client relationships. This position involves managing internal teams to deliver multi-channel content, social, advertising, and web solutions that drive results for clients. The Account Manager also supports the Managing Director and Senior Account Manager in driving client growth, planning, and proposals designed to help clients achieve their objectives.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Results: Maintain focus on the efficiency and effectiveness of work.
  • Build Value: Think beyond production and understand the importance of strategic thinking in transforming businesses and lives.
  • Nurture Collaboration: Foster an integrated and collaborative approach throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support and Inspire: Help, support, and inspire the team to create excellent outputs every time.
  • Develop Relationships: Develop close, trusting relationships with the senior team and heads of department to turn client opportunities into solutions.
  • Set Standards: Set standards for accounts while acting as an ambassador for the business.
  • Maximise Revenue: Maximise revenue from each client and ensure the growth and retention of the portfolio of accounts.
  • Support Proposals: Support the Managing Director with proposals that sell our solutions to clients.
  • Develop Briefs: Develop effective internal briefs that provide direction to teams and work together with internal teams to turn briefs into fully-scoped deliverables.
  • Manage Performance: Manage tracking and reporting of performance to ensure team accountability and quality of deliverables.
  • Manage Budgets: Efficiently manage all client-related budgets, targets, and billing requirements and ensure accurate invoicing for all clients.
  • Understand Clients: Maintain a thorough understanding of clients' businesses and markets, as well as our brand offering, to discuss with clients.
  • Ensure Quality: Work with internal seniors to ensure the quality of our creative and strategic output meets the agreed scope of the project, industry compliance, and the organisation's reputation for excellence.
  • Anticipate Challenges: Anticipate any problems that may arise during day-to-day delivery and know how to overcome or mitigate them.
  • Manage Client Expectations: Manage client expectations to ensure the delivery of required levels of service and maintain good, clear client records, WIPs, status reports, and internal communications.
The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for an experienced Account Manager who has a proven track record in client relationship management and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Agency experience is essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of lead sectors is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Forward-thinking and proactive approach.
  • Inspirational and motivational leadership style.
  • Excellent knowledge of a wide range of techniques, tools, and concepts for strategic thinking.
