About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support our Bids Team in gathering, processing, and presenting key data for new Cleaning, Grounds Maintenance, and Facilities Services contracts.
The successful candidate will study and interpret tender documents, conduct site visits across the UK, and calculate Labour Time, Materials, and Associated Costs with accuracy and within stringent timescales.
Main Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting detailed contract documentation to identify pricing requirements
- Analysing large quantities of asset data, identifying gaps, and raising clarifications
- Identifying and analysing risks, such as TUPE and KPIs
- Making accurate and concise notes on contract documentation
- Building bespoke Excel costing spreadsheets for each specific Tender
- Arranging site visits throughout the UK and working to tight deadlines
- Liaising with internal departments to ensure all specification requirements are captured and costed
- Having a consistent approach when pricing accurate proposals at multiple sites
- Handling multiple tenders at different stages of pricing
- Leading solution innovation
- Ability to upload a significant volume of key data and present cost plans to external customers and the Board
- Ensuring all processes and procedures are followed
- Continually reviewing and assessing performance and considering areas of improvement
- Ensuring exceptional customer service delivery and tracking KPIs
Requirements
- Prior experience working in the Social Housing sector
- Experience with costings of staff and time
- IT literacy with advanced knowledge of Excel and use of tablet and smartphone apps
- Ability to build and populate extensive Excel spreadsheets to capture all pricing elements
- Full UK Driver's Licence essential (Company Vehicle provided)
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
