Materials Procurement Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Materials Procurement Specialist to join our Commercial team in Byfleet, Surrey. This is a Fixed Term Contract role.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the cost-effective and timely purchasing of all materials required for our award-winning developments in the South East region.
You will work closely with our Commercial and Construction departments, as well as the Finance and Technical teams, to ensure seamless collaboration and efficient material procurement.
Your duties will include:
- Measuring drawings, taking off quantities, preparing schedules, estimates, and other working documents.
- Providing material costs for the preparation of construction budgets.
- Sourcing suitable suppliers and issuing tender enquiry documents.
- Negotiating proposed order values and new Regional Supply agreements.
You will also be responsible for producing a monthly forecast report for the Board, as well as preparing budgets, schedules, and estimates.
Requirements
We are looking for a commercially astute negotiator with a background in Construction, preferably with experience as a Materials Buyer in residential development. You should have a strong understanding of Contract law and be able to read and understand architect drawings, specification documents, and standard detail drawings.
A construction-related qualification, such as a HNC, would be desirable. You must also have a valid UK driver's license and be able to work under pressure, prioritizing your workload effectively.
