Job Title: Registered Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead our new children's residential homes in Burnley and Accrington. As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the homes, including staff supervision, budget management, and ensuring the highest standards of care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise staff, including the deputy manager, children's residential workers, and business support.
  • Conduct staff supervisions and appraisals, identifying and implementing staff training needs.
  • Ensure health and safety is always adhered to, and promote a culture of safety within the homes.
  • Use and promote therapeutic approaches, such as PACE, to support the needs of individual children.
  • Manage and monitor budgets, ensuring the homes are financially sustainable.
  • Work within the homes' policies, procedures, and practices to maintain the requirements of the Children's Homes National Minimum Standards Act 2000 and the Children Act 2004.
  • Be the designated safeguarding lead, responding immediately to any safeguarding concerns.
  • Promote a high standard of working and be a good role model for staff.
  • Ensure 24-hour cover, including an on-call structure, is in place on a rota system.
  • Participate in restraint procedures and undertake breakaway techniques as needed.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years' experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children's residential home.
  • Ideal qualifications include a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care or a Level 3 qualification in Young People's Workforce or Residential Care.
  • Effective communication skills and a good understanding of Ofsted's standards for children's homes.
  • The right to work in the UK.
