About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our UK systems engineering team at D-Orbit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design and development of spacecraft systems, ensuring their safe and successful operation in orbit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop spacecraft systems, including customization of flight-qualified platforms and design of new advanced missions.
  • Work closely with other systems engineers to follow the full design and development cycle of the systems product.
  • Interface with procurement, project management, manufacturing, and flight operations teams to ensure seamless integration and successful mission execution.
  • Contribute to the development of systems architecture and subsystems design.
  • Coordinate the integration of different subsystems and ensure compliance with stakeholder and mission requirements.
  • Support the systems test plan, procedures, and setup definition.
  • Author technical documents and reports.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in spacecraft design and development.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles and systems-level knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems.
  • Experience with data busses architectures, Matlab, Python, and requirements configuration management tools.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work in a remote-working environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of mission analysis tools (GMAT/orekit).
  • Working experience in space transportation and servicing applications.
  • Knowledge of Linux and ECSS/NASA standards.
