Glow is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialist Childrens Worker to join our team. As a Specialist Childrens Worker, you will provide a frontline one-to-one service for children and young people (aged 5 – 19) who have been impacted by domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of children and young people affected by domestic abuse to plan and deliver effective and focused intervention.
  • Work within a multi-agency framework to ensure children and young people are at the heart of their response to domestic abuse.
  • Assist children and young people through the criminal justice system, preparing reports for court and attending where necessary.
  • Stay up to date with current issues, legislation and best practice regarding domestic abuse, particularly relating to children and young people.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 1 year experience of working with children or young people providing either one-to-one or group work/activities.
  • SafeLives YPVA qualification or the willingness to work towards one
  • Experience of delivering support to children and young people, recognising individual needs.
  • Experience of managing safeguarding concerns.
  • Understanding of what great customer service is and excellent communication skills.
