About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Children's Worker to join our team at Glow. As a Specialist Children's Worker, you will play a critical role in providing frontline support to children and young people who have been impacted by domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centred support to young people in their own abusive relationships, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with relevant agencies to effectively safeguard children and young people at highest risk.
  • Assess the needs of children and young people affected by domestic abuse, planning and delivering effective interventions to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Use evidence-based tools to identify and assess risks and needs, ensuring the best possible support for young victims.
  • Represent Glow and the child in statutory meetings, such as core groups and Child Protection conferences, to ensure risks are shared and appropriate safeguards are put in place.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) and a minimum of 1 year experience of working with children or young people.
  • SafeLives YPVA qualification or willingness to work towards one (funded by Glow).
  • Experience of delivering support to children and young people, recognising individual needs and managing safeguarding concerns.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks and demands.
  • Able to drive and have access to a vehicle for business use, with an enhanced DBS check.
