About the Role
Chartwells, a leading provider of catering and support services to the education sector, is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to oversee all Compass Group UK&I catering and service operations for Chartwells on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth kitchen and service counter operations, delivering exceptional food experiences, and contributing to the growth of the catering team.

- Supervise culinary and catering teams, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork
- Oversee the efficiency of in-unit catering operations, including inventory management, budget monitoring, and implementing action plans
- Communicate regularly with line managers to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets
- Represent Compass Group UK&I and maintain a positive brand image, adhering to company values and standards
- Identify opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales and revenue growth
- Liaise between customers and culinary/service teams to ensure continuous improvement and exceed expectations
- Support and train teams, providing guidance and resources to help them excel in their roles
- Implement and review Health & Safety standards to ensure compliance across all catering and service teams

Requirements:
The ideal Catering Manager will possess a minimum of two years of catering experience, with a proven track record of managing teams and driving results. A strong background in food preparation, menu planning, and staff supervision is essential. Additionally, the candidate should hold relevant certifications such as NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
