Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence is seeking an experienced Programme Management Officer to join its Army Basing and Infrastructure Directorate. This role will involve leading the delivery of strategic programmes in the Army's portfolio, working closely with Civil Servants, military colleagues, and contractors to achieve the Army's Modernisation Agenda.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and cohering project documentation, ensuring timely updates and relevance.
  • Provide advice and guidance on Programme and Project Management (P3M) activities, including artefacts management, assurance review management, benefits management, business case development, change management, and resource management.
  • Support the management of programme change control processes, including Board Meetings, interface with Programme/Project Teams, and reporting management.
  • Manage programme File Plans, ensuring documentation is handled and stored in accordance with local policy.
  • Capture and disseminate programme and project Learning from Experience (LFE) in accordance with orders.
  • Input into planning activity relating to scope, deliverables, time scales, resource requirements, and budget.
  • Manage PMO team resource, input into programme resource activity, and engage with the portfolio level as necessary.
  • Coordinate pan-Defence Lines of Development (DLoD) Risk, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, Opportunities (RAIDO) activity and associated engagements.
  • Support all scheduling activity for the programme.
  • Prepare lines to take, question and answer packs, briefing documents, newsletters, site information sheets, and act as the secretary of any communication working groups as required.
  • Implement the delivery of the Programme Communications Strategy and Plan, and develop and deliver the related Stakeholder Engagement Plans.
  • Coordinate any Secretariat requests as necessary, including drafting submissions and responses relating to Ministerial business, Parliamentary Questions, and Freedom of Information Union (TU) Negotiations.
