Housing Options Officer Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Braintree District Council team as a Housing Options Officer. In this role, you will provide housing advice and assistance to individuals and families experiencing housing difficulties.

Estimated Salary: £31,000 per annum

Your responsibilities will include assessing housing needs and providing specialist advice in respect of all housing options. You will also participate in the Housing Options duty rota and respond to emergencies as required. Additionally, you will take action to prevent and relieve homelessness by undertaking investigations and ensuring that statutory obligations are carried out.

About the Role:
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team objectives.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including Social Care teams, health providers, Registered Providers, private landlords, and other statutory or voluntary agencies.
  • Conduct home visits and assessments to identify housing needs and provide advice and support.
