Senior Housing Support Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Housing Support Manager to lead our homelessness team. This is a temporary position required until the end of March 2025, with the possibility of extension.
The salary for this role is £20.53 per hour, paid weekly (£92 per hour basic pay + £2.61 holiday pay).
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of support staff, caretaker, and specialist support workers in providing excellent housing support services to our customers.
- Line Management: Provide effective supervision, training, and development opportunities, oversee recruitment and rota management, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.
- Communication and Partnerships: Build and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders, including housing and benefit departments, PRS landlords, and social care professionals, to ensure seamless service delivery and successful customer outcomes.
- Process Development: Assist the Service Manager/Head of Service in developing policies, procedures, and processes that promote key objectives and continuous service improvement.
- Assessment and Support Planning: Manage the assessment, support planning, and review process to ensure effective and appropriate support is delivered to tenants.
- Engagement Strategies: Support the team in dealing with disengaging customers, implementing local engagement strategies, and promoting positive practice.
- Reporting and Compliance: Ensure quarterly monitoring reports are completed on time and additional reporting requirements are met as requested by senior management or commissioners.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure services meet statutory agencies' standards, contractual obligations, and housing law requirements.
- Inspections: Prepare schemes for inspections and participate fully in the inspection process.
- Experience: Proven experience working with homeless individuals and those with complex needs, managing and developing a staff team, and promoting positive practice.
- Legislation and Practice: Understanding of homelessness legislation and related practice, including the Homelessness Reduction Act.
- Risk Management: Experience in risk identification, assessment, and management.
- Accommodation-Based Setting: Experience working within an accommodation-based setting, including property management.
- Housing Related Support Programme: Familiarity with the Housing Related Support programme and welfare benefits.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience working with other agencies, stakeholders, and commissioners, building excellent working relationships and communication.
- Safeguarding: Demonstrable knowledge and experience of safeguarding children and adults procedures, responsibilities, and legislation.
- IT Competency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, and ability to write clear, concise reports.
- Essential Requirements: Full driving license (for occasional meetings within Essex) and a fully enhanced DBS registered on the update service or issued within the last 12 months.
