At British American Tobacco, we're committed to delivering innovative products that satisfy or anticipate consumer needs. As part of our Research and Development function, we're seeking an Undergraduate Intern to join our Sensory Insights Team in Southampton.

About the Role

This 12-month placement will focus on managing a specific project related to the development of a new sensory methodology to test products within the Wellness and Stimulation category. You'll be responsible for scoping, planning, and executing the project, collaborating across functions, and ensuring data quality through checks and assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a new sensory methodology to test products
  • Validate the methodology to ensure it's fit for purpose
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive the project forward
  • Ensure data quality through checks and assessments
  • Provide high-quality presentations on project scope, progress, and outputs
Requirements
  • Currently studying an undergraduate degree in psychology, applied mathematics, food technology, or marketing (or a related subject)
  • Self-motivated, proactive, with good time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent presentation and analytical skills
  • Collaborative and positive attitude, with the ability to communicate with both specialist and non-specialist audiences
