About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Animal Behaviourist to join our team at Dogs Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Behaviour Services department, you will play a vital role in providing specialist behaviour consultations and support to dog owners across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert behaviour consultations for dogs with behaviour problems, including human-directed aggression.
  • Liaise with dog guardians and provide follow-up support to help keep behaviour modification plans on track.
  • Deliver behaviour services, clinical consultations, and assessments through in-person and virtual means.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork associated with running behaviour consultations, including writing reports and liaising with referring veterinarians.
  • Support our mentorship programme, which aims to develop the next generation of behaviour experts, and act as a mentor throughout the organisation.
  • Contribute to the design, assessment, and delivery of education materials.
About You

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in animal behaviour or welfare, ideally with a degree-level qualification or above. You will have extensive experience working in the field of dog behaviour and welfare, with practical experience of handling and applying welfare-based behaviour modification, training, and rehabilitation techniques for dogs with a range of problem behaviours.

You will be a skilled communicator with excellent counselling skills, able to express behaviour modification techniques in clear and understandable language. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential in this role.
