**Job Title:** Bookkeeper/Payroll Assistant
**Location:** Brighton
We are recruiting for a small but well-established accountancy firm based in the heart of Brighton.
**Role Overview:** Our client is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper/Payroll Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping and payroll, with proficiency in using Xero for bookkeeping tasks.
You will be responsible for completing VAT returns and managing payroll processes. This role is office-based, offering a competitive package and benefits.
**Responsibilities:
- Manage bookkeeping tasks using Xero.
- Process payroll for various clients, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, addressing their queries and providing financial advice as needed.
- Ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
**Estimated Salary:** £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll, within an accountancy practice.
- Proficiency in using Xero for bookkeeping.
- Strong understanding of VAT regulations and payroll processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
