We are seeking a highly skilled Quality and Improvement Lead to join our Quality Team at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality management systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain quality management systems, including project-level QMS, to meet customer contractual requirements.
- Manage and develop the project Quality team to ensure effective implementation of quality processes.
- Conduct quality audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Document and formalize processes to ensure robust and practicable quality management.
- Review customer and contract requirements to ensure alignment with quality objectives.
- Establish and maintain quality controls and documentation procedures.
- Work with Procurement to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
- Monitor performance and gather data to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and own the project Quality Assurance strategy in line with project requirements and overall MTC Quality strategy.
- Review and suggest improvements to existing policies and procedures.
- Manage the resolution of internal and external quality issues through effective root cause analysis and action planning.
- Manage the project internal audit programme and participate in external audits.
- Liaise with managers and staff to provide training and support for quality standards.
- Good working knowledge of Quality Management and ISO 9001 & AS9100 standards.
- Understanding of customer journey and experience.
- Quality planning and relevant standards, e.g. AQAP.
- Good numeracy skills and ability to work with data.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Auditing best practice.
In addition, we are looking for a candidate with:
- Background in civil nuclear/aerospace quality management systems.
- Significant experience in an analogous role.
- Degree-level education.
- Member of or working towards membership of an appropriate professional body.
- A high degree of personal motivation.
- Ability to work in a matrix management structure and lead change.
- Ability to work within a team and provide support to team members.
