About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and caring individual to join our team as an Autism Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. In this role, you will provide 1:1 support to pupils with special needs, assist them in developing essential skills, and collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure effective communication and support.

Key Duties:

  • Support pupils with special needs, such as autism, in achieving their academic and personal goals
  • Assist children during lessons, helping them understand and engage with the curriculum
  • Work closely with teachers to implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and track pupil progress
  • Liaise with parents and relevant staff to ensure effective communication and support

Requirements:

  • Experience or interest in supporting pupils with a range of needs e.g. Asperger's, Autism, ADHD, speech and/or language difficulties, cerebral palsy
  • Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour
  • Knowledge of successful strategies to engage pupils with specific and significant needs
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £22,000 - £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience), and we offer free online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our workers.
