Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join CalMac Ferries Limited, the UK's largest ferry operator, as a Harbour Operations Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our ferry terminals.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative individual to assist with the control of passengers and vehicles embarking and disembarking from our vessels. This includes giving clear and concise direction to all, sale and validation of passenger and vehicle tickets, service disruption arrangements, emergency requirements 'out-of-hours', and all duties connected with ship movements, gangways, and securing of vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Control of passengers and vehicles embarking and disembarking from vessels by giving clear and concise direction to all.
  2. Sale and validation of passenger and vehicle tickets.
  3. Service disruption arrangements.
  4. Emergency requirements 'out-of-hours'.
  5. All duties connected with ship movements, gangways, and securing of vessels.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a good understanding of CalMac services, be computer literate, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should also be customer-focused, have a clear understanding of the customer interface, and have a proactive approach to customer care. Additionally, you must be able to commute to and from the Colonsay Ferry Terminal on a daily basis, hold a full UK driving license, and have a flexible approach to working, including shift and weekend work.
