Job Title: Residential Support Worker for Children with Autism

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Barnardo's. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trust and develop nurturing relationships with service users to promote their independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or be willing to successfully achieve this within the required timeframe.
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people in a children's home setting.
  • Flexibility to commit to shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
