Sound Engineer Development Opportunity

The RoleWe have opportunities for summer placements or 6-12 month placements in Croydon, Manchester, Leeds or Nottingham as an Acoustics Placement Student. As a member of our Acoustics team, you will work on a wide range of projects, including site-based measurement of sound and vibration, data analysis, prediction, acoustic design, reporting writing and liaison with clients.
Job Description- As a member of our Acoustics team, you will work on a wide range of interesting and challenging projects including some of the biggest projects in the UK
- You will work in a large and friendly team and get involved in many aspects of our projects that could include site based measurement of sound and vibration, data analysis, prediction, acoustic design, reporting writing and liaison with clients
- Your time with us will provide a valuable insight into acoustic consultancy at the highest level, within the operation of one of the world's leading providers of engineering, construction, and technical services
- Contribute to the acoustic input, data analysis, predictions, and 3D modelling on a range of projects
- Complete site visits to make acoustic measurements and observations
- Undertake primary research and literature searches
- Support senior colleagues in providing technical advice to clients
- Technical report writing
- Communication with clients, local authorities and interdisciplinary teams
- Attend client and design team meetings
- Working towards a BSc/MSc degree in Acoustics, Acoustical Engineering, Sound Engineering and Production (Physics or Mechanical Engineering if a keen interest/experience in Acoustics)
- Anticipated degree classification of 2:1 or above (or equivalent) is preferred
- Good Microsoft Office skills essential such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Strong numeracy
- Ability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole
- Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing with the confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors alike) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback
- Estimated salary: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum
