Job Description Summary

As a Lead Development Application Engineer at GE Aviation, you will be responsible for designing, validating, and troubleshooting protection and control devices. You will work closely with program and product management teams to create high-level specifications and develop solutions using detailed functional specifications. Your expertise in power system protection and control will be essential in defining product technical requirements and solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create high-level specifications and develop solutions.
  2. Design and develop protection and control systems using detailed functional specifications.
  3. Perform system studies and simulations to validate GE Digital Energy algorithms.
  4. Analyze user specifications and requirements to recommend appropriate GE Digital Energy solutions.
  5. Stay up-to-date with market trends and requirements to propose new developments in GE Digital Energy products.
  6. Provide technical consultation and guidance to cross-functional teams.
  7. Author technical papers and present materials at conferences and tradeshows.
  8. Assist in preparing training material and deliver training courses.
  9. Provide technical guidance and direction to new and experienced engineers.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent knowledge/experience.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing applications in the P&C market or in a postgraduate/research environment.
  3. Legal authorization to work in Canada.

  1. Advanced experience in power system protection and automation products.
  2. Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink and power system simulation tools.
  3. Excellent organizational skills and self-motivation.
  4. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to conflict resolution.
  5. Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and grow.
  6. Knowledge of modern protection and control developments and trends.
  7. Familiarity with industry standards and documentation procedures.
  8. Proven record of writing and presenting papers at industry conferences.
