Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity application engineers in the Global Customer Support team are engineers specialized in OT cybersecurity for the grid automation domain, and are fully engaged in the primary function of the Applications & Support team, namely the Level 3 (L3) technical support to Grid Automation (GA) Sales/Business Development teams, Product Management and Products R&D.

The role is expected to demonstrate technical leadership, teamwork capability and the ability to keep up with evolving OT cybersecurity technologies in the grid automation domain, versatile in adapting new OT cybersecurity products and solutions, and mentor the junior members of the team and other colleagues.

Job Description

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  1. L3 technical support on assigned OT cybersecurity platforms, covering post-sales and some aspects of pre-sales technical support.
  2. This role covers both partner and GE Vernova OT cybersecurity products and solutions.
  3. Design and tune OT cybersecurity products and solutions for complex schemes; develop Application Notes, articles and configuration notes to drive product sales and facilitate GA project delivery.
  4. Resolve customer complaints (ACT) on OT cybersecurity products and solutions and prepare necessary customer communication such as 8D and engineering reports, accountable for resolving most critical cases.
  5. Site visits for gathering evidence for analysis, troubleshooting or customer meetings as needed.
  6. Provide product/applications training on new products and product evolutions; develop and update training modules as necessary.
  7. Customer training responsibility in selected cases.
  8. Lead or contribute to events such as customer demonstrations, regional roadshows or seminars, in-depth training, proof of concept projects involving new technology.
  9. Maintain broad awareness of GA Product efforts to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer needs.
  10. Technical leadership for OT cybersecurity.
  11. Work with Product Line and Product Security Lead teams on application and implementation of new/evolving standards and technologies in the product roadmap.
  12. Ability to travel (globally) up to 25% of time.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Cybersecurity-related degree.
  2. In-depth understanding of OT cybersecurity applications and relevant standards in the grid automation domain.
  3. Extensive experience with OT cybersecurity solutions.
  4. Extensive and demonstrated years of experience in OT cybersecurity in the energy sector, or advanced degree qualification, in lieu of less experience.
  5. Fluent in English; an additional language will be a plus.
  6. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
