About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Care Worker to join our team at Vetro Recruitment. As a Children's Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people between the ages of 8-18 who have experienced early childhood traumas in the Health and Social Care Sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age and individual needs.
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment in the residential setting.
  • Deal with challenging behaviors in a safe and sympathetic manner.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for the young people and ensure their safety at all times.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements
  • A full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential, with a minimum of 1 year's driving experience, due to the location of the home and the requirements of the role.
  • Experience within a children's residential setting or with challenging behaviors is an advantage.
  • Candidates with experience in sports coaching, camp America, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, the Guiding and Scouting Movement, or youth work are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be aged 23 or over, due to the oldest child in the setting and the policies of the organization.
