About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our team at Waterloo Lodge School, an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged 11-18 with a wide range of needs. As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to our pupils, helping them to achieve their full potential and develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of subjects, including food technology and RSHE, to pupils with complex needs and learning difficulties.
  • Develop and implement engaging and motivating lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of each pupil.
  • Work closely with the Deputy Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure the smooth running of the school and the delivery of high-quality education.
  • Contribute to the development of the school's curriculum and policies, ensuring that they are inclusive and meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to provide a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification with QTS/QTLS.
  • Secondary or primary teaching experience, preferably with a focus on SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of the school and its pupils.
