About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Design Engineer to join our R&D team at BlueGate Consulting Ltd. As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and evaluating electronic PCBs and assemblies for products sold worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop components and assemblies from concept to mass production for new models.
  • Critically evaluate design proposals and participate in peer review meetings.
  • Develop test procedures to validate designs.
  • Study EMC & Signal Integrity issues, identify, and eliminate design problems before sample stages.
  • Apply technical knowledge to investigate, identify, and implement countermeasures and improvements to resolve issues and coordinate development issues.
  • Support the Project Leader to ensure cost requirements for electrical / electronic aspects of developments are available when required.
  • Support the Project Leader to create and maintain project plans / schedules for electrical / electronic aspects of developments.
  • Consider and research new technology to improve and implement new R&D systems / processes, ensuring efficient product development and future improvement to product development.
Requirements
  • Degree level qualification in Electrical / Electronic Engineering plus 3 years relevant industry experience, or at least 5 years relevant industry experience in a similar role.
  • Electrical and EMC testing in a design environment and of fault finding to component level.
  • PCB design tools (Zuken CR5000 preferably) and Circuit simulation tools.
  • Analogue / Digital Design.
  • Design for Manufacturing - Experience in designing electronics circuits and taking the design from concept to mass production.
  • Design for EMC / ESD and noisy environments.
  • Soldering and de-soldering (including surface mount components).
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit theory.
  • Hands on experience of using electrical and electronic test equipment and tools.
