Electronic Design Engineers, all levels, Cardiff - Good, comprehensive package, salary dependant upon experience

An excellent opportunity for capable Electronic Design Engineers, with Analogue and Digital Design experience, to join the established R & D team of this global technology company and be extensively involved in the design, development and evaluation of new electronic PCB's, assemblies for products which will be sold worldwide.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Design, develop and evaluate components and assemblies from concept to mass production for new models.
  • Critically evaluate design proposals and participate in peer review meetings. Develop test procedures to validate designs. Study EMC & Signal Integrity issues, identify, and eliminate design problems before sample stages.
  • Apply technical knowledge to investigate, identify, and implement countermeasures and improvements to resolve issues and coordinate development issues; including evaluation failures and changes in requirements.
  • Support the Project Leader to ensure cost requirements for electrical / electronic aspects of developments are available when required.
  • Support the Project Leader to create and maintain project plans / schedules for electrical / electronic aspects of developments.
  • Consider and research new technology to improve and implement new R&D systems / processes, ensuring efficient product development and future improvement to product development.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Degree level qualification in Electrical / Electronic Engineering plus 3 years relevant industry experience, or at least 5 years relevant industry experience in a similar role.
  • Electrical and EMC testing in a design environment and of fault finding to component level.
  • PCB design tools (Zuken CR5000 preferably) and Circuit simulation tools.
  • Analogue / Digital Design.
  • Design for Manufacturing - Experience in designing electronics circuits and taking the design from concept to mass production.
  • Design for EMC / ESD and noisy environments.
  • Soldering and de-soldering (including surface mount components).
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit theory.
  • Hands on experience of using electrical and electronic test equipment and tools.
