Senior Engineering Safety Team Leader
We are seeking a highly proactive and adaptable engineering leader to join our Engineering Safety Organisation (ESO) as a Senior Engineering Safety Team Leader. The ESO consists of a central group of 25 engineers who oversee and appoint around 500 people across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the central ESO team and will play a key role in identifying regulatory compliance requirements, identifying significant hazards and risks, defining processes and procedures, undertaking competency assessments and appointments, ensuring the effectiveness of and continuously improving safety processes and standards, and providing discipline-specific safety advice to facilitate safe operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the central ESO team
- Identify regulatory compliance requirements
- Identify significant hazards and risks
- Define processes and procedures
- Undertake competency assessments and appointments
- Ensure the effectiveness of and continuously improve safety processes and standards
- Provide discipline-specific safety advice to facilitate safe operations
Requirements:
- Highly proactive and adaptable engineering leader
- Excellent people management and communication skills
- Ability to articulate technical complexities
- Previous experience of delivering engineering capability across a manufacturing and/or research environment
- Reasonable understanding and ability to apply applicable legislation and standards relevant to safety within engineering
