Critical Project Resourcing Ltd seeks an experienced Program Accountant to join their finance team on an interim basis. The role involves supporting the oversight and management of financial benefits within the Safety Valve Programme.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will ensure project deliverables relating to finance and performance metrics are met, in line with the Council's submission to the Department for Education (DfE).
  • They will provide financial oversight and assurance to senior leaders across the Council regarding the programme's financial benefits.
  • Collaborating with the Safety Valve Steering Group and SEND Leadership Team is key to ensuring financial and project objectives are achieved.
  • The Programme Accountant will conduct financial due diligence to monitor the programme's financial progress, ensuring alignment with Council and Government submissions.
  • Developing and implementing appropriate financial metrics is essential for consistent financial monitoring and evaluation across the programme.
  • The ideal candidate will produce Highlight Reports to clearly identify and communicate financial benefits to senior leaders.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial metrics related to programme and/or project management methodologies is necessary.
  • A strong understanding of risk management techniques and mitigation strategies is also required.
  • Experience in effective programme delivery within a public sector/local government environment, engaging with multiple stakeholders is desirable.
  • A proven ability to work in a complex organisational setting, providing clear financial assurance and supporting strategic decision-making is essential.
