About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced support worker to provide care and assistance to an 11-year-old girl with autism and selective mutism in Oldfield Park, Bath. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with autism, particularly those who suffer from chronic constipation and demand avoidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing creative play and meal preparation for a gluten-free diet
  • Supporting the child's daily needs, including personal care
  • Assisting with homework and educational activities

Requirements:

  • DBS Check (funded by employer)
  • Clean driving license and own car
  • Experience working with autistic children, particularly selective mutism and PDA
  • Female PA due to element of personal care

Personal Qualities & Attributes Required:

  • Responsible, reliable, and trustworthy
  • Excellent timekeeping
  • Good communication and social skills
  • Ability to respect confidentiality and privacy

Working Arrangements:

The role will require 4 hours per week during term time and 8 hours per week during school holidays. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexible hours, including Saturdays, and may be required to work additional hours during school holidays.

Salary: £11.44 Per Hour, paid through PAYE scheme

Benefits:

  • 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year, including bank holidays (pro rata for part time)
  • Opportunity to work with a child with complex needs
