Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Materials Procurement Specialist to join our team at Michael Page Scotland. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for procuring materials in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure materials from a range of suppliers, ensuring optimal supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments, communicating any supply problems that may impact business operations.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers to ensure the company remains competitive.
  • Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships, fostering strong communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines, purchasing policies, and procedures, maintaining a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Conduct research for new components and suppliers, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Compile data relating to supplier performance, enabling evaluation and informed decision-making.

Requirements

  • Well-established knowledge of procurement and supply chain management practices, with a strong understanding of the Manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific requirements and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to forge relationships with suppliers, driving value and cost savings.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a strong focus on stakeholder management.
