Support Assistant Specialist

This long-term position at a specialist school in Kent offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with complex medical needs. As a Student Support Assistant, you will be responsible for enabling students' learning, promoting their independence, and helping them achieve their academic and personal goals. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Enabling students' learning through individualized support and accommodations.
- Promoting students' independence by assisting with daily living tasks and developing life skills.
- Supporting students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
The role requires a car driver's license, as the location is remote and not accessible via public transport. Previous experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) is essential, with a Level 3 diploma in Residential Childcare being desirable. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures is also necessary. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders. This is a fixed-term contract position, working Monday to Thursday 12:30-21:30, with a competitive salary of £16.50 per hour and comprehensive training program offered.
