We are seeking a highly skilled Technology Risk Oversight Manager to join our team at Nationwide Building Society. As a key member of our Operational Risk Oversight team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of technology risks across the organization.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in technology risk management, with experience in overseeing and challenging the management of technology risks. You will be responsible for providing effective oversight of operational activities and change initiatives within the Technology sphere of accountability, ensuring that technology risks have been fully considered and managed.
Key Responsibilities- Oversight the design, build, and implementation of technology through the Technology lifecycle, ensuring that technology risks are identified, managed, and reported through governance as appropriate.
- Challenge the first line on management of the technology estate, the implementation and maintenance of resilient systems, and ensuring critical data is secure.
- Influence first line to ensure that technology risks are identified, managed, and reported through governance as appropriate.
- Assess business area compliance against the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) requirements, including risks, controls, policies, and scenario analysis.
- Work collaboratively with partners across the 3 Lines of Defence (3LOD) to simplify and strengthen technology risk management practices for the benefit of the Business and Society overall.
- A demonstrable track record of working within, overseeing, or auditing for technology management, with experience in managing complex platforms or networks, preferably with an understanding of cloud.
- Experience working with COBIT or ITIL, including knowledge of how they operate, how to implement, and what the significant risks and pitfalls are that need managing for successful implementation.
- Strong critical thinking and ability to comprehend and assimilate information rapidly, breaking down complex problems and providing support and challenge to risk owners in a clear and understandable way to suit different audiences.
- Interpersonally, experience of working on a regular basis with Director and Exco level stakeholders, with the ability to develop high-value relationships at all levels.
