Renal Transplant and Vascular Access Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Surgeon to join our Renal Surgical team at St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the existing renal surgical program, including live and deceased donor renal transplantation, vascular access surgery, and laparoscopic donor nephrectomy.
Main Duties- Perform transplantation surgery at St George's hospital site and vascular access surgery at both St George's and St Helier Hospital in Carshalton.
- Contribute to medical student audit and clinical research, with a focus on renal transplantation and vascular access.
- Take an active part in the development of the renal surgical services, including the implementation of new techniques and procedures.
- Supervise junior medical staff and provide guidance on the efficient and smooth running of a specialist service.
- Participate in clinical governance activities within the department and the trust, including the design and delivery of talks, lectures, and workshops.

Person Specification- Full registration with the General Medical Council or eligibility if currently working overseas.
- Currently on the Special Register for General Surgery or eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date.
- Higher professional qualification (e.g. MRCS).
- Experience in vascular access and renal transplant surgery, with a strong knowledge of transplant and vascular access techniques.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
- Experience of leading clinical audits, implementing change, and monitoring compliance.
- Ability to develop, motivate, and lead multidisciplinary teams.
