Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced hospital pharmacist to join our team as Deputy Chief Pharmacist. As a key member of our pharmacy leadership team, you will play a crucial role in delivering our Pharmacy Vision of excellence and providing high-quality clinical services to our patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the pharmacy services to paediatrics and maternity, ensuring that appropriate mechanisms are in place to promote high-quality drug use, effective risk management, clinical governance, and adherence to trust policies and guidelines.
  • Provide professional leadership to the dispensary-based pharmacists and manage the dispensary services, including daily presence in the dispensary and contributing to the improvement of dispensary KPIs.
  • Co-ordinate and deliver on clinical governance initiatives relating to medicines management and use within the area of paediatric and maternity medicine.
  • Manage and develop staff assigned to dispensary, monitor their performance, and undertake performance reviews.

Person Specification
  • BPharm/MPharm or equivalent
  • Registered with GPhC
  • Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience
  • Management qualification or equivalent experience

We are looking for a candidate with significant years of post-registration experience, relevant hospital pharmacy experience, and management experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
